You don’t need another productivity trick if the real problem is avoiding the work.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
New systems are enjoyable because setting one up feels like progress while remaining entirely safe. The app, the planner, the reorganised list, all of it produces the sensation of movement without requiring you to touch the thing you are actually avoiding. If the obstacle were organisation, one of the previous twenty systems would have worked. Usually the obstacle is the work itself.
Ask what specific task you are circling, and be precise about what makes it uncomfortable, whether it is the risk of doing it badly or the fear of finding out. Then do fifteen minutes of it with whatever system you already have. The avoidance is the problem, and only contact with the work solves it.
What are you organising instead of simply doing?
