The blank page is intimidating because it refuses to blame anyone else.

CREATIVITY
What makes a blank page uncomfortable is that nothing about the result can be attributed elsewhere. No brief, no constraint, no one else’s failure to point at. Whatever appears is yours, and that exposure is what people are actually avoiding when they say they cannot start.
Give yourself a constraint to work against rather than facing the blankness directly. A form, a limit, a prompt, an arbitrary rule. It reduces the exposure enough to begin, and beginning is the only part that was ever really the problem.
What do you start last because it is entirely yours?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
