Attention gives ordinary objects a chance to become particular.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Most things around you are filed under a category rather than actually seen. A cup stays a cup until you notice the chip on its handle and the way the glaze pooled at the base. Nothing about the object has changed. What changed is that you stopped treating it as an example of a type.
Choose one thing you use every day and look at it for a slow minute. Find something about it that no other cup or chair or spoon has. That small habit tends to spread, and the room begins to hold particular things rather than furniture.
How would an everyday object change if you looked at it slowly?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
