The colleague who checks on the unfinished detail is helping the result survive its announcement.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Announcing something is not the same as it being finished. The person asking about the loose end is not slowing things down but protecting the work from the week after the launch, when a gap becomes everybody’s problem. That role is unpopular in the room and valuable in the month.
If someone plays that part on your team, thank them where others can hear it. If you are that person, ask early and specifically rather than raising a general worry at the end. And before announcing anything, list what is still unfinished and who knows about it.
