The game ends when the conditions are settled, not when pride has finished wanting another possibility.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
An ending is decided by the facts, while your willingness to accept it runs on a separate clock. Once the result is fixed, some part of you keeps hunting for the move that would change it, and that hunt can continue long after there is anything to find. Wanting another possibility is not the same as there being one.
When something is over, name the point at which it was actually settled. Give yourself a while to be unhappy about it without treating that as reopening the question. Then put the energy into the next thing rather than the last one.
Have you refused to call some outcome of yours actually finished?
