Young people deserve memories that have not already been selected for public sharing.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
A childhood that gets photographed for an audience becomes partly a performance. The moments chosen for posting are shaped by how they will look to other people, and the child learns early to sort experience into the shareable and the rest. Something private is lost in that sorting, and it is lost before they are old enough to be asked.
Take some pictures that are only for the family, and take some days that are not photographed at all. Ask before you post anything about someone too young to consent. Let them arrive at adulthood with a few memories that belong solely to them.
Whose private moment did you share before they could choose?
