Resolve to edge in a little reading every day, if it is but a single sentence. If you gain fifteen minutes a day, it will make itself felt at the end of the year.

Small daily amounts beat occasional large ones, because the daily version survives the weeks when everything is difficult. A single sentence sounds absurd as a target and that is the point: it is small enough that no circumstance excuses you from it, so the habit never breaks and never needs restarting. Fifteen minutes a day is a book a month without anything ever feeling like an effort.
Set the amount low enough to be embarrassing and then do it without exception. One page before sleep, or a sentence at breakfast. On the good days you will do more, and the good days are not what keeps the practice alive.
What could fifteen minutes a day teach you by December?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
