Art is long, life short; judgment difficult, opportunity transient.

— Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

STILLNESS

WHAT THIS MEANS

Any craft worth mastering asks for more time than a life contains, and the hard part is not effort but knowing which effort counts. Good judgment arrives slowly, while chances to use it arrive and leave in a morning. That mismatch is the real pressure on a working life, not laziness. It means you will finish far less than you can imagine.

Pick the one or two things you actually want to be good at and let the rest stay unfinished. When a chance appears this week that fits them, move on it before you have talked yourself into more research.
