Men are most apt to believe what they least understand.

REFLECTION
Confidence and understanding often run in opposite directions. A thing you grasp fully shows you its limits and exceptions, which makes you careful; a thing you barely follow has no visible edges, so belief expands into it freely. That is why the murkiest claims attract the fiercest certainty.
Notice where your own conviction is strongest and ask how much of the detail you could actually explain. If you could not teach it to someone, hold it as an impression rather than a position. Certainty that cannot show its working is worth less than it feels.
What do you believe firmly and could not explain if asked?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
