The question “what do I want?” becomes stronger when followed by “what is worth wanting?”
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Wanting is not self-justifying. Desires arrive from advertising, from comparison, from old wounds, and following them without examination means spending your life on things you never assessed. Asking what is worth wanting adds a layer of judgment to a process that otherwise runs automatically.
Take something you currently want and ask where the wanting came from and what having it would actually change. Some desires survive this and become clearer. Others quietly dissolve, which is also useful.
Which of your wants would you still respect in ten years?
