He that wants good sense is unhappy in having learning, for he has thereby only more ways of exposing himself; and he that has sense, knows that learning is not knowledge, but rather the art of using it.

CREATIVITY
Learning without judgement gives a person more elaborate ways to be wrong. They can cite, refer and construct arguments, and none of it tells them whether the argument should be made at all, so the knowledge becomes a longer rope. Someone with sense treats what they have read as material rather than as an answer, and knows the skill is in the using.
With whatever you know well, practise the harder half. Before deploying it, ask what this particular situation actually requires and whether your expertise is the right tool here. Knowing when not to apply what you know is the part that takes years and gets no credit.
What do you know well but have never actually used?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
