Things sweet to taste prove in digestion sour.

RESILIENCE
What is pleasant at the moment of taking often charges you afterwards. The second drink, the purchase made quickly, the satisfying reply sent at once: each is entirely agreeable going in and each presents its bill hours or weeks later, when the pleasure is no longer available to offset it. The trouble is that the two events feel unconnected, since the sweetness is vivid and the sourness is diffuse.
When something is very appealing right now, put a short delay between the wanting and the doing. Ask how it will read tomorrow morning. Most of the time the delay alone settles the question.
What felt wonderful going in and cost you afterwards?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
