Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Concealment takes maintenance. A hidden thing needs every subsequent statement kept consistent with it, and the effort compounds while attention wanders, which is part of why secrets are so tiring to keep. Over a long enough stretch, what happened has a way of surfacing on its own schedule rather than yours.

If you are carrying something undisclosed that affects other people, the useful question is not whether it will come out but who you would rather they hear it from. Telling it yourself is the one version where you still choose the framing. And if you are waiting for someone else’s account to unravel, you may simply need patience.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What have you been keeping quiet that keeps surfacing anyway?
