Being able to make something useful from very little is a capability that circumstances cannot remove, and it changes your relationship to scarcity permanently. Whatever happens, you know you can produce something, and that knowledge alters how much any shortage can frighten you.

Build this deliberately by taking on something with deliberately inadequate resources. The point is not the output but becoming a person who has done it and knows they can.
