I find that the harder I work, the more luck I seem to have.

RESILIENCE
Luck is partly a matter of how many chances you put yourself in the path of. Working hard puts you in more rooms, in front of more people and more problems, which multiplies the chances for a fortunate break. It also leaves you ready to use an opening when one appears, so a chance that would slip past an unprepared person becomes a real gain. Effort cannot guarantee good fortune, and plenty of hard-working people stay unlucky for reasons outside their control.
Rather than waiting to be noticed, widen your exposure: show your work, apply for things, talk to people in the field. Keep preparing, so that when a lucky moment comes you can make something of it.
Which of your lucky breaks followed a long unglamorous stretch?
