Ability will never catch up with the demand for it.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

The need for capable people never runs out. However skilled a group becomes, there is always more work calling for good judgement and care than there are people ready to do it well. That is also why anyone who is good at something is so often asked for more than they can give.

Being needed in general is not the same as being hired or paid, and a hard search for work is no verdict on what you can do. Where you have some room, pick one skill that people around you keep needing and nobody quite has, and give it a steady hour a week. And if you are already the one being asked for everything, it is fair to decide how much to give.
