The greatest pleasure I know is to do a good action by stealth, and to have it found out by accident.

RESILIENCE
Doing good quietly removes the question of motive. When nobody knows, you cannot be doing it for credit, and that clean feeling is its own reward. There is also a small human delight in being discovered afterwards, which is worth admitting rather than pretending to be above. The pleasure comes from both halves together: the goodness was genuine because it was hidden, and the recognition arrives without having been sought.
Do one helpful thing that you tell no one about, such as paying for something, fixing something, or putting in a good word for somebody. Resist mentioning it. If it comes to light, enjoy that too.
What kindness could you do without anyone learning it was you?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
