Life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced.

— Søren Kierkegaard

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Treating your life like a puzzle to be cracked can keep you permanently at one remove from it. You analyse, plan and optimise, waiting for the moment everything is figured out, and that moment never comes. Much of what matters, love, grief, beauty, uncertainty, is not meant to be solved at all, only lived through with your eyes open.

Next time you catch yourself trying to solve a feeling or a relationship, try simply being in it for a while instead. Notice what is happening without immediately deciding what to do. Some things become clearer by being felt fully than by being thought about harder.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What are you trying to fix that only asks living through?
