A happy life is one which is in accordance with its own nature.

— Seneca

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

Much unhappiness comes from trying to live a life that does not suit you: chasing goals that belong to someone else, forcing yourself into roles that go against your temperament. A happy life, in contrast, fits the person living it. It aligns with what you are genuinely like, rather than with what you believe you should be.

This requires knowing yourself honestly. Consider what energises you and what drains you, what you do when nobody is watching, what you return to again and again. Then ask where your current life asks you to act against that grain, and whether one of those places could be adjusted.
