The best preparation for good work tomorrow is to do good work today.

— Elbert Hubbard

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Readiness is not stored up in advance. It accumulates out of ordinary hours already spent doing the work properly, which is why waiting for better conditions tends to mean they never quite arrive and the muscle you needed is the one you skipped building. Standards are a habit before they are a decision. Whatever you tolerate on a quiet day is roughly what you will produce under pressure.

Take one task due this week you were planning to do adequately. Do that one at full attention instead, even if nobody notices the difference. The point is not the task; it is what you are teaching yourself to treat as normal.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What could you finish well today rather than plan again?
