Enthusiasm is the genius of sincerity and truth accomplishes no victories without it.

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

Correctness on its own moves very little. What carries an honest position into other people is the visible fact that the person holding it cares, which cannot be faked for long and cannot be replaced by better phrasing. Cold accuracy tends to be admired and then ignored. Warmth is not decoration on the argument; it is the part that travels.

If you have been making your case in a flattened, careful voice because heat feels unprofessional, try saying why it matters to you before saying what you propose. Not louder, just less hidden. People decide whether to listen partly on whether you appear to mean it.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Where are you right but too flat to convince anyone?
