Difficult problems reward people willing to remain curious longer than frustrated.
STILLNESS
STILLNESS
Most hard problems are not solved by insight arriving suddenly. They are solved by someone staying interested past the point where everyone else got annoyed and left. Frustration ends the investigation early, and the answer was usually a few more questions along, available to whoever was still asking them.
When you feel the irritation rising, treat it as a signal to take a break rather than to conclude. Come back the next day with a question instead of a grievance. The people who solve difficult things are rarely cleverer, only still curious at hour six.
How long do you stay curious before frustration takes over?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
