All men commend patience, although few are willing to practice it.

RESILIENCE
Everyone approves of waiting well, in the abstract, at a distance, for other people. In the actual moment it feels like nothing but wasted time and swallowed irritation, with no visible reward for either. The gap between admiring a virtue and performing it is where most character quietly gets decided.
Pick the situation that reliably gets you: traffic, a slow colleague, somebody who tells stories at length. Treat one encounter this week as the training rather than the obstacle. None of it will feel virtuous while it is happening, which is a fair sign you are doing it.
Where do you praise patience while refusing to wait?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
