One useful action makes the next useful action less foreign.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

The first time you do something useful it takes real effort, because the whole thing is unfamiliar. The second time some of it is known, and the third time more, until eventually the action stops feeling like a departure from normal and becomes part of it. Nothing about you changed except the number of times you have been there.

If something feels alien, the answer is usually one more repetition rather than more motivation. Do it badly a few times on purpose. The strangeness wears off faster than the difficulty, and the strangeness was doing most of the stopping.
