Keep testing the border between inability and unfamiliarity.

CREATIVITY
Being unable to do something and being unfamiliar with it feel identical at first. Both produce fumbling, confusion, and the sense that you are not built for this. The difference only shows up after enough attempts, when unfamiliarity fades and genuine inability does not. Most people decide long before that point and get the answer wrong.
Before concluding you cannot do something, give it enough repetitions for strangeness to wear off. Ten attempts rather than two. Then judge. A lot of supposed incapacity turns out to have been the awkwardness of week one.
What might you simply be unfamiliar with rather than bad at?
