Better work often begins with becoming bothered by details you once ignored.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
You cannot fix what you do not notice, so improvement usually starts with becoming irritated by something that never bothered you before. That new sensitivity is uncomfortable and it is the mechanism, since the details you now find unacceptable are exactly the ones you used to leave in place. Learning to see is most of learning to do.
Spend time with work considerably better than yours and pay attention to what the differences are. The point is not to copy but to develop the eye. Once you can see it, the fixing follows fairly naturally.
