A bad peace is even worse than war.

STILLNESS
Some settlements cost more than the fight would have. A truce that requires you to abandon what you actually needed does not end the conflict; it moves it inside you, where it goes on unwitnessed and unresolved. Anyone who has lived through real fighting is right to be suspicious of anyone romanticising it, and the point being made is not that conflict is good but that quiet can be purchased too cheaply.
Look at any arrangement you have accepted mainly because you were tired. Ask what it required you to stop saying. If the answer is something that still matters to you, the matter is not closed, only postponed.
Which truce in your life is quietly worse than the argument?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
