Dreams are true while they last, and do we not live in dreams?

— Alfred Lord Tennyson

CREATIVITY

WHAT THIS MEANS

While you are inside an experience it is completely convincing. The fear feels permanent, the certainty feels earned, the mood seems like a description of the world rather than a weather pattern passing through you. Much of ordinary life runs the same way, lived from inside a story you cannot see the edges of.

When something feels absolutely true this week, try adding four words to it: right now, it seems. That small hedge does not make the feeling false; it just leaves room for tomorrow to disagree. Then check back in a few days and see what held.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which belief felt entirely real until you woke from it?
