If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it is, infinite.

— William Blake

REFLECTION

WHAT THIS MEANS

What dulls the world is rarely the world. It is the film of habit laid over your seeing, the filing system that decides in advance what a face, a street or a morning contains. Clear some of that away and the same ordinary things turn out to have no bottom to them. Nothing has to be added for this; something has to be removed.

Choose one thing you pass every day and give it a full minute of unhurried attention, with no plan to use what you find. Try something else tomorrow. Wonder responds to slowness far more than to novelty.
