Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth.

REFLECTION
Each of the first three can be had while something in you knows better. Affection can rest on a version of you that you keep up, money can come from work you would not defend, and standing can rest on a flattering story. What is true costs you that comfort and returns the relief of not maintaining anything.
Pick one place where you are managing an impression and stop managing it for a week. Say the plainer version of your answer when someone asks how the work is going. Notice whether the loss is as large as you expected.
Would you give something up to know where you stand?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
