The great art of life is sensation, to feel that we exist, even in pain.

GRATITUDE
Being alive means something registers, and the numb stretches can be harder than the painful ones in a way that is difficult to explain to anyone currently in pain. Discomfort at least reports that you are here. That is no reason to want suffering, and nobody needs more of it than they already carry. It is a reason to be wary of the flatness you reach for in order to feel less.
Notice what you use to go quiet: the scrolling, the extra hour of background noise. Trade one of those, once, for something that lets the day reach you.
Does pain make you feel more present or less?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
