The sculptor produces the beautiful statue by chipping away such parts of the marble block as are not needed - it is a process of elimination.

CREATIVITY
Making something good is often a matter of removal rather than addition. The shape you want may already be present, hidden under everything you kept because it seemed useful at the time. Deciding what to cut is harder than deciding what to add, because each cut is final and each addition feels like progress. Clarity comes from subtraction.
Look at one thing you are building this week and ask what it would lose if you took a piece away. If the answer is nothing, take it away. Do that a few times before you add anything new.
Where would removing something serve you better than adding?
