You can do very little with faith, but you can do nothing without it.

— Samuel Butler

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Trusting that something might work does not make it work. It moves nothing by itself, pays for nothing, finishes nothing, and anyone who promises otherwise is selling something. What it does is get you to the starting line. Every attempt you have ever made began with an unproven belief that the attempt was worth making, and without that small unreasonable thing your hands never move at all.

If you are waiting for certainty before you begin, you will wait. Ask instead what you would need to believe for one hour of effort to be worth spending, and see whether you can manage that much.
