A second attempt that ignores the first is really just a first attempt with more scar tissue. Whatever you paid for last time bought you specific evidence, and that evidence should visibly shape what you do differently. Otherwise the cost bought nothing.

Write down two or three concrete things the last attempt taught you and make sure each one shows up as a change in the plan. Name the change. If you cannot point to it, you have not really carried the lesson.
