Think about the kids you might have one day. The habits you build now are the ones they’ll grow up watching.

LEADERSHIP

WHAT THIS MEANS

Habits are contagious in families, mostly through being seen rather than taught. Whatever you do routinely becomes the normal version of adulthood for anybody growing up near you, whether that is your own children one day, a younger sibling or a cousin. Nobody remembers the lecture; they remember what was ordinary in the house.

Pick one habit you would be uncomfortable passing on and one you would be glad to. Work on them in that order. Changing something now is easier than explaining it later.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Which of your habits would you hate a child copying?
