Your younger siblings are watching what you choose. You’re the preview of what they think is normal.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Kids a few years behind you are not listening to what you say about your choices. They are watching how you talk to your mom, how you handle a bad grade, what you do when you are bored on a Sunday. Whatever you repeat becomes their idea of ordinary, and ordinary is hard to argue with later.

You do not have to be perfect in front of them, and pretending would not work anyway. Let them see you apologize once, or start over after messing something up. Watching someone recover is more useful than watching someone never fall.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What are you teaching a younger kid just by acting normal?
