Doing good work with no manager around is how you end up becoming the manager.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
Supervision is a temporary condition, and people get promoted out of it. What somebody is really looking for is a person who behaves the same whether or not they are being watched, because that is the only kind you can hand something to and then stop thinking about. Nobody announces this test, and it runs constantly.
Treat the unwatched hour as the real one this week. Do the closing tasks properly, finish the part nobody checks. It is less about being noticed, though you usually are, than about being somebody who can be left alone with something.
How much gets done when nobody is checking on you?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
