Opportunities come with expiration dates. They just don’t print them on the label.

RESILIENCE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Openings are not permanent, though they rarely announce their closing. The person willing to help gets busy, the spot fills, the group forms without you, and none of that arrives as a notification. It quietly stops being available, and you find out much later when you finally go to use it.

If something has been open for a while and you have been waiting for a better moment, treat this week as the deadline. Send the message, ask the question, take the place. Acting early costs a little awkwardness; acting late usually costs the whole thing.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What chance are you treating as if it waits forever?
