Repeating your own formula is still copying. Surprise yourself once in a while.

Once something works, it becomes very easy to make again, and the reward for repeating it is immediate. The problem is that the second and fifth and twentieth version take no decisions, so you stop learning while still producing. It looks like a style and it is closer to a habit. Copying yourself is quieter than copying someone else and it has the same effect.

Look at your last five pieces and list what they all share. Pick one of those constants and break it on purpose in the next one. The result might be worse, and you will have found out something repetition could never show you.
