When a teammate messes up, cover the gap first and talk about it later. Teams are built in those seconds.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
In the moment right after a mistake, a team either steadies or splits. Covering the gap keeps the thing alive and tells the person who slipped that they are not about to be left there alone, and people remember that far longer than they remember the error itself. Commentary during the play helps nobody and is mostly about looking blameless.
When somebody drops something, move into the space they left and say nothing. Raise it later, privately, once it can actually be useful to them. That order is the entire difference.
Whose mistake could you quietly cover before saying anything?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
