Almost everything that works is being held up by people whose names appear nowhere. The sound gets set up, the room gets unlocked, somebody cooks, somebody drives, and none of that generates a mention. Take those people out and the whole thing stops within a fortnight. Credit and contribution are only loosely related.

Volunteer for something with no visibility attached and commit to it for a term. Then find one of the invisible people at your church and thank them specifically. Most of them have never been told that anybody noticed.
