A potter doesn’t throw away clay that collapses. He just starts shaping again.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Clay collapsing is part of the process, not the end of it. The potter does not go looking for new material, because the material was never the problem. Something in you gave way this month and the instinct is to decide you are finished, or that God moved on to somebody easier to work with. The hands stay on the wheel.

When you fall apart at something, resist inventing a whole new identity by Monday. Go back to the same thing with the same hands. Ask for help with the part that keeps collapsing instead of pretending it held.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

What collapsed on you recently that could still be reshaped?
