Giving when you have little teaches your heart more than giving when you have plenty.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Generosity out of a small amount teaches you something a large donation cannot. When there is plenty, giving costs nothing you would have felt. When there is not much, you feel exactly what it was worth, and that feeling is the lesson, because it loosens your grip. None of which means you are obligated to give away what you actually need.

Look for something real to you that you can give without leaving yourself short. An hour, a ride, part of a paycheck, the last of the good snacks. Pay attention to what your hand does when you let it go.
