Showing up to small group after a bad week is its own kind of prayer.

GRATITUDE
Getting into a room when you would rather be in bed is an act, not a formality. You had no words, did not want to be asked how you were, and went regardless, and that decision said to God what your prayers that week could not. Presence is a language of its own. It counts even when you sit there mostly silent.
If the week was bad, go instead of skipping and calling it rest. You are allowed to arrive and say you do not want to talk about it. Let people be near you, since being near people is usually how the rest arrives.
Where do you keep showing up even when you’re empty?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
