You can watch a sunset without telling anybody you watched a sunset.

An experience does not need a witness to have happened. But the habit of reporting can slide in front of the thing itself, so that half your attention is already drafting the caption while the sky is still changing. What you end up with is a record of something you only half watched.
Try keeping one good thing entirely to yourself this week. A walk, a song that got you, ten minutes of sky. Notice whether it feels smaller without an audience or actually a little bigger. You can always tell people later, and telling people later is different from performing it live.
