Being seen accurately by one adult at the right age changes what you think is available to you. It is rarely dramatic. Somebody says you are good at this, or hands you a harder book, or puts your name forward for something, and a door you did not know about becomes ordinary. Years later the shape of your life traces back to a sentence they have forgotten saying.

Work out who yours was. Then find a way to say it, however awkward the email feels. Nobody in that job gets to see the results of their work, and you are holding the only copy of the outcome.
