Someone forgiving you is them choosing peace over being right. Don’t make them regret it.

GRATITUDE

WHAT THIS MEANS

Forgiveness is not a conclusion someone reaches, it is a decision they make against their own case. They could have stayed right, and staying right is comfortable, and they gave it up in order to have you back. That is a real cost paid on your behalf, and it is easy to accept without noticing that it was paid at all.

Do not treat it as a reset that lets you skip the change. Say what you understand about what you did, once, properly, and then demonstrate the rest rather than discussing it. And remember how it felt when it is your turn to decide.

A QUESTION TO SIT WITH

Who let something go that they could have held over you?
