Complaints spread fast in a locker room. So does gratitude. Choose which one you start.
GRATITUDE
GRATITUDE
Whatever the first person says out loud tends to become the mood of the group. Complaints catch quickly because agreeing costs nothing. Appreciation catches the same way, only slower, and nobody thinks of themselves as the one setting the tone. Somebody always is, though, and it is usually whoever spoke first.
Try being the first voice in the room this week and watch what follows. One true good thing about the session, the shift, the trip. Nothing has to be faked here, you are only choosing which true thing gets said.
What mood do you bring into a room by default?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
