End things like someone’s going to write about it later. Somebody usually does.
LEADERSHIP
LEADERSHIP
How something ends is the part people keep. A job, a friendship, a team, a relationship: the last two weeks get told and retold long after the good middle is forgotten. That is a little unfair, and it is also how memory works. You do not control whether something ends, only the version of you that walks out of it.
If something is winding down right now, decide what you want the ending to look like before you are inside it. Return what you borrowed, say the actual thank you, skip the parting shot. Then let it close.
How did your last ending look to the people watching?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
