Do less when necessary, but keep the relationship with the work alive.
RESILIENCE
RESILIENCE
There is a difference between doing less and letting go. Doing less keeps the work in your hands, keeps its problems turning over quietly in the background, and keeps the path back short. Letting go entirely means the next return costs you the whole climb again, because the thing has gone cold.
When capacity drops, shrink the session instead of cancelling it. Read a page, fix one line, look at it for five minutes. Keeping contact is the goal, and contact is cheap.
What would keep you in touch with the work during a hard week?
Free, with nothing to buy inside it.
